Coline Tote PDF Sewing Pattern, Beginner-Friendly Zipper Bag Pattern, 3 Sizes

An easy-to-sew tote that’s anything but plain. Made for mixing fabrics, playing with color, and creating a bag that feels completely yours.

The Coline Tote is a beginner-friendly sewing pattern designed around simple straight stitching, so you can enjoy making a detailed-looking tote without complicated sewing techniques.

What makes Coline special is the way the panels come together. With several separate panels, you can have fun combining your favorite fabrics, prints, solids, and colors to create different looks from the same pattern. And it’s not just pretty, it’s practical too.

The Coline Tote features a secure zipper closure at the top, a front zipper pocket for keeping small essentials within easy reach, and a back pocket that can be finished with either a magnetic snap or hook-and-loop tape.

One of my favorite details is the seamless bottom. The SIDE PANEL continues around the bottom of the tote, creating a clean look without a seam across the base. For this construction, each SIDE PANEL needs to be long enough to run continuously around the bottom. If your fabric isn't long enough, you can join two pieces of fabric to create the required length.

Whether you prefer a coordinated neutral look or love mixing bold prints and colors, Coline gives you plenty of room to make it your own.

The construction is broken down into simple, manageable steps, with clear instructions and helpful tips along the way. If you can sew straight seams and follow step-by-step instructions, you can make the Coline Tote with confidence.
